Linking
It is important to have good outbound links as well as inbound links, a common misconception is to hog the ‘page rank’ and keep it all for yourself. The problem with this is that the search engines want to see how valuable a resource you are. Think about it logically, is your page the be all and end all, the one and only opinion that matters on your subject?
A good outbound link should be placed within the copy of your page and by using good anchor text it will definately help your page worthyness.
Page rank is not what many people think, and in SEO circles this topic has been hammered, hammered and just for good measure, hammered again. Don’t be afraid to express yourself with your sites and don’t be afraid to give credit where it is due, or where someone else may have some complimentary or even contradictory things to say about your subject.
One of the old cliches and golden rules of a good web site, ‘don’t write for search engines’. If you have something to add to enhance the user experience, add it.
