The webmaster tools on Google have been undergoing some heavy development, the latest addition being the back links counter. This section of Google has had some great little features added to it and should be used regularly for monitoring the progress of your site.

When doing page titles, imagine you are trying to write the first line of a PPC ad. It should contain the page key phrase close to or at the beginning, have short catch and then end in the site name. Writing very long key word stuffed titles does not get the users attention in the SERPS and nor does it help to focus your page for landing.
